Have there been any USAF GeoBase meetings or conferences?

Since last Fall there have been two significant GeoBase events. First, during Corona Fall 00, held at USAFA the first week of October, IITA and PACAF presented a GeoBase and GeoReach briefing and demonstration. This resulted in the assignment of HQ USAF/ILE as the AF GeoBase champion and the tasking to determine how to operationalize GeoBase across the Air Force. The second significant event was a GeoBase Seminar held at USAFA in December. The purpose of this seminar was for the MAJCOMs to provide their input into the work effort to be accomplished by IITA during 2001. The MAJCOMs' consensus was that IITA should continue working GeoBase by resolving AF-level issues and topics not limited to a single MAJCOM. As a result IITA, AFCEE, 38EIG, and MAJCOM POCs have formed a "virtual" GeoBase integration office until the AF establishes an AF GIO.
