 Are there any critical concerns or "show stopping" issues I should be aware of as my organization proceeds with our CADD/GIS technical solution? Two words: "information protection." In a May 99 GeoBase decision briefing to PACAF/CC, the excitement around the PACAF Staff was tempered with the caution to ensure any PACAF GeoBase implementation efforts were carefully designed to adequately protect government defense information. At the present time, there is no formal USAF classification guide policy specifically directing how thematic geospatial information such as high resolution digital orthophotographs, transportation, or utilities should be handled in either a singular or aggregate sense. The Information Assurance policy team at AFCIC as well as AFCA personnel are currently addressing this vital issue. In the meantime, any installations looking at sharing their geospatial information outside of the base network firewalls must ensure their SC has reviewed their information protection measures. « Return to FAQ List racing games . export russland |
